Lake Charles, LA – A slightly cooler and drier pattern will finish out the weekend across southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana on Sunday, before a return to unsettled weather early next week. Temperatures Sunday will climb into the low-to-upper 70s with a 0% chance of rain and light northeast winds.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, storm chances rise on Monday as moisture and instability increase across the region. Highs are expected to reach 78–82 degrees, with rain chances between 30–60%. A few thunderstorms may develop, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
Tuesday brings the highest likelihood of widespread rainfall, with rain chances climbing to 30–80% depending on location. Temperatures will remain warm, topping out between 76–81 degrees, though cloud cover and periodic showers may keep some areas slightly cooler. Winds shift from the southwest to the north as the week progresses.
By Wednesday, the system moves east, allowing for drier air to filter into the region. Highs will drop to 65–70 degrees with only a 10% chance of rain and gusty north winds around 20 mph. Overnight lows throughout the period range from the upper 40s to upper 60s, depending on the timing of cloud cover and frontal passages.
Residents across southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas should prepare for multiple rounds of rain Monday night through Tuesday before conditions improve midweek.
