Lafayette, IN – A Lafayette man was arrested Thursday following a months-long investigation by the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Authorities say the man is accused of possessing child sex abuse material, a Level 4 felony.

According to the Indiana State Police Lafayette District, detectives arrested Donald Baker Jr., 60, on October 16, 2025, after executing a search warrant at his residence in Lafayette. The investigation, which began in May 2025, focused on allegations of distributing or possessing child sexual exploitation material.

Police said multiple electronic devices were seized during the search, and at least one allegedly contained CSAM. Baker was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail, where he faces one felony count of possession of child sex abuse material.

The Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation, which remains ongoing. No further details have been released.

The Indiana ICAC Task Force, a statewide unit led by the State Police, investigates online exploitation and child solicitation crimes. Authorities urge anyone with information about suspected child exploitation to report it to local law enforcement or through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

Under Indiana law, all criminal charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
