La Porte County, IN – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a significant road closure on U.S. 6 in La Porte County. Maintenance crews will be conducting seal coating operations, necessitating the closure of U.S. 6 between U.S. 421 and State Road 39. This project is scheduled to start on or after Monday, July 1, and is expected to last approximately three days, weather permitting.

During this period, traffic will be redirected to an established detour route. Motorists should follow the detour via State Road 39, U.S. 30, State Road 49, and State Road 2. This detour is already in place due to the ongoing U.S. 421 roundabout project.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution and adhere to traffic directions in the work zone. The nature of seal coating operations can vary with weather conditions, and the schedule may change accordingly.
