Union Mills, IN – A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred yesterday on CR 300 North, resulting in the death of a Union Mills resident. The accident took place at 11:54 a.m., west of Johnson Road.
According to deputies, a red 2010 Ford Explorer driven by 65-year-old Gregory W. Crites veered left of center, crossing the eastbound lane before traveling off the roadway. The vehicle collided with a tree on the south side of CR 300 North, overturning and coming to rest on its driver’s side. Crites, the sole occupant, was trapped inside and required extrication. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further information has been released at this time. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
