La Porte County, IN – Deputies are investigating a serious crash on State Road 2 this afternoon that left a vehicle overturned and utility lines down, prompting traffic delays in the area.
According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred in the 8200 block of SR 2 and involved at least one personal injury. The vehicle struck a utility pole, leaving wires down across the roadway. Utility company AEP is on the scene to assist with repairs.
Authorities said motorists traveling eastbound on SR 2 should slow down when approaching the crash site. Emergency crews and utility workers are expected to remain in the area for an extended period of time while repairs are made and the scene is cleared.
The Sheriff’s Office did not immediately release information on the condition of the driver or passengers involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
