La Crosse, Wis. – Warm, breezy conditions will close out the weekend in western Wisconsin before showers and possible thunderstorms roll in by Monday morning. After a stretch of sunshine through Sunday, residents may see a quick shift to cooler, wetter weather to start the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Saturday and Sunday will stay sunny with highs reaching near 89°F. South winds could gust up to 29 mph, adding a late-summer feel to the region. Clouds will thicken Sunday night, bringing a 70% chance of showers and a few isolated thunderstorms into early Monday.

Temperatures will drop into the mid-60s Monday with lingering showers possible through the night. By Tuesday, drier air returns, setting up mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-60s — a noticeable cooldown after the weekend warmth.

Drivers should watch for slick roads Monday morning, especially along U.S. Highway 53 and Interstate 90, where early rainfall may reduce visibility.

More scattered showers could return midweek, but generally mild weather is expected to continue.
