La Crosse, Wisconsin – Mild and dry weather is expected across western Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota for the first part of the week, with daytime highs climbing into the upper 30s and mid-40s, according to the National Weather Service in La Crosse.
The National Weather Service said Monday will bring dry conditions with afternoon highs ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s across the region, including La Crosse, Onalaska, Winona, and surrounding communities. Overnight lows are expected to remain in the mid-20s to low 30s.
Temperatures are forecast to stay largely in the mid to upper 30s through midweek, keeping conditions relatively mild for early February. Skies are expected to vary between partly cloudy and mostly cloudy at times, with no widespread precipitation anticipated through Wednesday.
Motorists traveling along Interstate 90, U.S. Highway 53, U.S. Highway 61, and other major roadways should experience generally favorable driving conditions during the early week period, with dry pavement and minimal weather-related impacts.
According to the weather service, the pattern will begin to shift later in the week. Widespread precipitation chances are expected to return on Thursday, with probabilities ranging from 25 to 45 percent across the forecast area. Specific precipitation types were not detailed in the outlook, but temperatures suggest rain or a mix may be possible.
For commuters, students, and outdoor workers, the early-week stretch offers a break from winter hazards before unsettled weather potentially arrives later in the week.
The National Weather Service emphasized that while temperatures will be milder than average, conditions will still fluctuate, and residents should remain aware of updated forecasts as precipitation chances increase.
Additional updates will be provided by the National Weather Service La Crosse office as the late-week system becomes clearer.
