La Crosse, Wisconsin – After a cool start to the weekend, temperatures across western Wisconsin are expected to steadily warm as the new workweek begins, bringing milder and relatively quiet weather into midweek.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in La Crosse, highs today will remain mostly in the teens to mid-20s, with cold morning lows in the single digits and teens. Sunday will begin the transition toward warmer conditions, with afternoon highs climbing into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

A more noticeable warm-up is forecast to arrive Monday and Tuesday. Daytime highs are expected to reach the upper 30s to mid-40s for many locations, including areas along Interstate 90, U.S. Highway 14, and U.S. Highway 61. Overnight lows will also moderate, reducing the risk of icy conditions during early-morning travel.

The National Weather Service indicates the region will remain relatively dry into the middle of the week, with no significant precipitation expected. The combination of milder temperatures and dry conditions should help improve road conditions and allow for gradual snowmelt where snow cover remains.

Drivers should still watch for wet spots on shaded roads and bridges during the overnight and early-morning hours, especially as temperatures fluctuate around freezing. However, widespread travel hazards are not anticipated.

The warming trend may benefit commuters, students, and outdoor workers, particularly during daytime hours along exposed highways and rural routes. The milder weather could also bring increased foot traffic and outdoor activity as conditions become more comfortable.

Forecasters note that temperatures early next week will run above average for early February, continuing a pattern of moderation after recent cold spells.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated with official National Weather Service forecasts as conditions evolve and to enjoy the brief stretch of mild winter weather responsibly.
