Knox County, IL: Multiple Vehicles Burglarized in Overnight Thefts

Knoxville, IL – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of vehicle thefts and burglaries that occurred early Monday morning in Knoxville, Illinois. Around 2:30 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a vehicle theft and later discovered that multiple vehicles had been burglarized within the town.

The Sheriff’s Office quickly mobilized several deputies and investigators to handle the increasing number of theft reports. Further investigation led authorities to locate the stolen vehicle in Peoria, Illinois. Suspects of interest have been identified, and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office is actively following leads to apprehend those responsible.

Officials urge residents to secure their vehicles and personal belongings. “Always lock your vehicles and take your personal items and keys inside your home,” a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson advised.

Residents with video footage from security cameras are encouraged to report any suspicious activity between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Monday. Reports can be made by contacting Detective Keith at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 309-343-9151.
