Klamath Falls, OR – Deputies with the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Klamath Falls man in connection with a string of burglaries targeting several local businesses along South Sixth Street and Hilyard Avenue.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the break-ins began on October 19, 2025, and investigators quickly determined the incidents were connected. More than $29,000 in stolen property and damages were reported.
Businesses affected included Casey’s Restaurant, Le Bella Boutique Salon, But Make It Dirty Soda Bar, ATR Towing and Recovery, the Klamath County Fairgrounds, and Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, where deputies also found extensive vandalism to memorial structures.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses and identified a black Ford Crown Victoria linked to the burglaries. The suspect, 29-year-old Anthony James Hird of Klamath Falls, had previously been involved in a separate fuel theft investigation, authorities said.
Following a search warrant on October 22, deputies recovered stolen property, including a WEN 4800 generator reported missing from one of the businesses, along with clothing consistent with that seen in the footage.
Hird was arrested on October 24 after a short foot pursuit at Campus Green Mobile Park on Highway 97. Deputies found him hiding behind a bush near the park’s eastern edge and took him into custody without further incident, with assistance from an Oregon State Police trooper.
Several stolen items have since been returned to their owners. Investigators believe Hird may not have acted alone, and the case remains under active investigation.
