Kern County, CA – Four people from Texas and Nevada were arrested this week after Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies uncovered an alleged diesel theft and credit card skimming operation near Buttonwillow.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on November 6, 2025, deputies from the North Area Substation responded to reports of fraudulent credit card use at a truck stop on Lagoon Drive, where thousands of dollars in diesel fuel were stolen using cloned cards.

Deputies located two of the trucks involved and arrested 42-year-old Vasel Yedra Rodriguez of Houston, Texas, and 42-year-old Yoagner Torres Rodriguez of Las Vegas, Nevada. A search warrant led to the discovery of computers and other electronic devices believed to be used in the credit card skimming scheme.

The following day, November 7, deputies found a third truck and arrested 37-year-old Rolando Martin Santos and 34-year-old Anyesi Afonso Amuedo, both from Houston. They were also allegedly involved in the diesel fuel theft and found with skimming equipment.

All four suspects were booked into Lerdo Jail on charges including fraudulent credit card use, conspiracy, and grand theft of property.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the KCSO at 661-861-3110 or the Secret Witness Hotline at 661-322-4040 (case #2025-00140816).
