Bakersfield, CA – Fourteen alleged outlaw motorcycle gang members were arrested Friday night after a high-speed pursuit along State Route 119 near Taft, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The incident occurred around 7:35 p.m. on October 10, when the CHP Central Division Crime Suppression Task Force pursued a group of riders heading eastbound from Taft for multiple vehicle code violations. Authorities said the riders, identified as members of the Hells Angels and Hermanos Unidos motorcycle gangs, allegedly attempted to flee after splitting into two groups.

According to CHP, officers from Taft Police Department, Kern County Sheriff’s Office, and Kern County Probation joined the pursuit, coordinating to safely end the chase.

In total, 14 riders were taken into custody — 10 by CHP and 4 by Taft PD — on felony evading charges with gang enhancements. All motorcycles were impounded, and gang attire was seized as evidence.

Officials praised the joint operation as part of CHP’s ongoing effort to suppress gang-related crime and ensure community safety across the Central Valley.
