There is a chance of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon, which will be a precursor to the significantly hotter weather expected over the weekend.
Friday’s forecast predicts dry conditions with temperatures rising to between 88 and 92 degrees. The heat will intensify on Saturday, with highs between 92 and 95 degrees. The weekend will conclude with Sunday temperatures ranging from 93 to 96 degrees, becoming increasingly humid.
This warm spell is attributed to high-pressure systems moving into the region, causing prolonged periods of sunshine and limited cloud cover. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Temperatures in Louisville and surrounding areas, including Paducah and Frankfort, are expected to follow a similar pattern. Paducah will see highs of 86 degrees today, gradually increasing to 95 degrees by Sunday. Residents in Frankfort should prepare for highs near 90 degrees starting Friday, with a peak of 96 degrees anticipated over the weekend.
