Paducah, KY – Residents across southwestern Indiana and western Kentucky should prepare for breezy and cold conditions today, with temperatures barely climbing above freezing. Snow flurries may develop, causing slick patches on elevated surfaces, especially during early hours.
According to the National Weather Service, winds will gust between 25-30 mph, with isolated bursts up to 35 mph. Highs are forecast between 34°F and 38°F, with lows dipping to 23°F to 27°F tonight. Visibility could be reduced in areas experiencing light snow, and drivers are advised to use caution on roadways such as Interstate 69 and U.S. 60.
Saturday brings mostly sunny skies, with slightly warmer highs near 39°F. Calm winds will offer a reprieve from Friday’s gusts. Sunday continues the warming trend, with highs near 45°F. However, rain returns Monday, with showers expected to persist into Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when temperatures may climb to 57°F.
A hazardous weather outlook remains in effect for the region, cautioning residents about gusty winds today and the potential for heavy rainfall late Monday into Thursday. The gradual warming will improve road conditions, but heavy rain could bring localized flooding early next week.
