LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Summerlike warmth is returning to Kentucky this week, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s and only a slim chance for light rain. The National Weather Service in Louisville said most of the state will stay dry through the weekend.

According to the agency, Thursday offers the only slight chance of sprinkles or a passing shower, but even then conditions should remain mostly dry. By Friday and Saturday, sunshine takes over with afternoon highs consistently reaching 85 to 90 degrees. Overnight lows will dip into the 50s and lower 60s, offering some relief.

The stretch of dry, warm weather will benefit outdoor plans and harvest work but could also stress lawns and crops without rainfall. Drivers can expect clear travel conditions across Interstates 64, 65, and 71, with no major weather hazards expected.

Residents should plan for heat safety by staying hydrated during peak afternoon hours and limiting strenuous outdoor activity. NWS officials said the pattern looks to hold into early next week, keeping the state under mostly sunny skies.
