Jackson, KY – A sharp warm-up is underway across eastern Kentucky, with temperatures set to climb nearly 20 degrees in just a few days as dry conditions hold through the workweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, high pressure will keep skies mostly clear through Friday, allowing temperatures to rise steadily from the low 50s and 60s Tuesday into the 70s by Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday afternoon, highs will reach between 75 and 80 degrees across much of the region.

Communities including Jackson, Hazard, and Pikeville will see consistent sunshine and dry conditions, with no rainfall expected through at least Saturday. Along key routes like the Mountain Parkway and U.S. 23, travel conditions will remain ideal with no weather-related disruptions.

A weak cold front moves through Saturday, but with limited moisture, no rain is expected. Instead, temperatures will briefly level off before surging again.

By Sunday afternoon, highs are expected to reach the mid to upper 80s, marking the warmest stretch so far this spring. Residents should prepare for a rapid transition to warmer conditions, with additional updates possible as the pattern evolves.
