Louisville, Ky. – After a cloudy but dry Tuesday, Kentuckians south of the Parkways should prepare for scattered showers beginning Wednesday afternoon as another weather system moves in from the west.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, rain chances will increase mainly across southern portions of the state, particularly along and south of the Cumberland and Western Kentucky Parkways. Tuesday will remain partly to mostly cloudy, with highs between 67 and 72 degrees. By Wednesday, temperatures could reach the mid-70s, but the return of moisture brings a 30% chance of showers.

Communities such as Bowling Green, Somerset, and Hopkinsville are most likely to see midweek rain, with a few rumbles of thunder possible by Thursday. While rainfall amounts are expected to stay light, drivers should be cautious on slick roads, especially during the morning and evening commute.

Thursday brings a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with highs climbing to the upper 70s in some areas. Residents are advised to monitor local updates and be weather-aware, particularly in the southern counties where convective activity is most likely.

More rain is possible through the end of the week, but dry weather dominates north of the Bluegrass Parkway for now. Updates will continue as new systems approach.
