Jackson, Kentucky – Highs near 80°F and a mix of sunshine and mild evenings will carry most of Eastern Kentucky through the weekend, but isolated storms could linger along the I-64 corridor into Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, surface high pressure will dominate through Friday, keeping most of the region dry. A weak cold front is expected to stall across central Kentucky by Saturday, bringing a 30% chance of showers and storms—primarily concentrated near the I-64 corridor from Morehead to Mount Sterling.
Communities outside this narrow band, including Hazard, Pikeville, and Harlan, are likely to stay mostly dry. Saturday night into early Sunday carries a lower risk of rain (20%), again centered around the I-64 corridor. Temperatures will stay consistent, with daytime highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and overnight lows ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s.
Drivers traveling along I-64 should watch for sudden downpours, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. No major flooding or severe storms are expected, but outdoor plans along the corridor may be briefly interrupted.
Spotty rain chances continue into Sunday night, with clearer skies expected to return by early next week.
