PADUCAH, Ky. – A warm, dry stretch is set to linger through Tuesday across western Kentucky, keeping fall events, pumpkin patches, and school commutes under nearly perfect skies. After a calm Columbus Day holiday, sunshine dominates the region into midweek, offering one of October’s most comfortable runs of weather so far.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, calm winds and high temperatures near 82 degrees will persist through Tuesday, with light fog possible early in the morning along I-24 and near low-lying river valleys. Visibility should improve quickly after sunrise, making travel safe for morning drivers and school buses.

By midweek, light northeast breezes will continue, keeping humidity low and skies clear. “It’s textbook October weather,” the NWS noted Sunday, with no rain expected through at least Thursday. That means ideal conditions for leaf-viewing trips and late-season yard work. Temperatures will begin to dip slightly by Thursday night, hinting at a cooler turn by the weekend.

Residents should stay alert for fog patches during early drives, especially near the Ohio River and rural areas of McCracken and Ballard counties. Those planning outdoor activities can expect extended sunshine and calm air—perfect for holiday cleanup or fall decorating.

The next noticeable change could arrive late Friday as light southwest winds return, signaling a minor cool-down heading toward the weekend. For now, western Kentucky enjoys one more burst of golden, dry fall weather before the next shift.
