Paducah, Ky. – Stormy weather continues across western Kentucky through Monday, with scattered severe thunderstorms and localized downpours likely to affect evening travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a cold front moving through the region Monday could trigger a few strong to severe storms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Damaging wind gusts and frequent lightning are the primary hazards. Rain chances stay high—up to 75% in areas like Cape Girardeau, Marion, and Owensboro—before gradually tapering off late Monday night.

By Tuesday, the storm threat shifts primarily to west Kentucky, where isolated showers and storms may persist during the morning. Cities like Murray, Mayfield, and Hopkinsville may see lingering rain before a stretch of calmer, cooler weather arrives. Highs will range from the upper 80s today and Monday to more manageable mid-80s by Tuesday.

Residents are advised to avoid non-essential travel during storms, secure loose outdoor items, and monitor alerts for any severe thunderstorm warnings through Monday evening. With lower humidity and dry skies expected Tuesday and Wednesday, relief is on the way.

Warnings remain in effect through late Monday. Additional advisories may follow.
