Louisville, Ky. – Thunderstorms will continue to rumble across Kentucky through Tuesday, with the greatest threat coming Monday afternoon as strong storms may bring damaging winds and dangerous lightning.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, scattered storms will develop each afternoon through Tuesday, with locally heavy rain likely and the strongest activity expected on Monday. Storms could begin forming by early afternoon and persist into the evening, especially across central and southern parts of the state.

Today, residents may see patchy fog in the morning, followed by afternoon storms with highs in the upper 80s. Monday brings a heightened risk, as isolated strong storms could knock down limbs or damage power lines. Tuesday’s storm chances will focus mainly on Kentucky, with drier air pushing in from the west by Wednesday.

Drivers should stay weather-aware, especially during the evening commute. Charge devices, secure outdoor items, and avoid flooded roadways. While no widespread severe outbreak is forecast, lightning and downpours could still disrupt daily plans.

Drier, less humid conditions are expected midweek, with a break from storms beginning Wednesday.
