Louisville, Kentucky – Heavy, muggy air lingers across Kentucky this week, setting the stage for daily rounds of scattered thunderstorms and gusty winds from Louisville to Lexington through Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, the region can expect seasonably warm highs between 85 and 92 degrees with scattered afternoon and evening storms each day. These hit-or-miss thunderstorms may bring intense downpours, frequent lightning, and occasional gusty winds, especially during the evening commute. Patchy fog is also possible overnight in areas like Campbellsville, Russell Springs, and Lexington.

Roadways such as I-64 and I-65 may see slick spots during evening storms, and local emergency managers advise drivers to slow down and remain alert for sudden changes in visibility or standing water. Power outages and minor flooding are possible in low-lying areas, particularly where storms repeatedly track.

Residents in Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, and the Bluegrass region should keep devices charged and prepare for brief disruptions, especially during late afternoon and evening hours. Outdoor activities may be impacted, so stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or local alerts.

Scattered showers and storms are expected to continue daily through Friday, with the next update from NWS Louisville by tomorrow morning. Additional advisories may be issued if severe weather develops.
