Paducah, KY – The National Weather Service in Paducah reports a wet stretch ahead for western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri, with rain chances holding steady through midweek and temperatures trending below seasonal averages.

According to the National Weather Service’s Saturday evening update, rain chances remain between 65% and 85% from Sunday through Wednesday, with cooler daytime highs in the upper 50s to mid-60s and overnight lows dipping into the 40s and upper 30s by midweek. The heaviest rainfall totals are expected Monday and Tuesday, particularly across southern Illinois, the Purchase area, and western Kentucky.

Forecast maps show widespread precipitation spreading eastward across the region, with most areas expected to receive one to two inches of rainfall through Wednesday night. Temperatures will gradually cool, with highs on Wednesday projected near 55°F before bottoming out in the upper 30s Thursday morning.

Meteorologists note that while the early week will remain soggy, a dry pattern should return late Thursday into Friday, bringing clearer skies and seasonable conditions in time for Halloween festivities.

Residents are advised to use caution on wet roads and allow extra travel time during morning commutes.
