Paducah, KY – Light snow is expected across western Kentucky late Monday night into Tuesday morning, with slick roads possible for commuters. Forecasters warn that untreated surfaces, particularly bridges and overpasses, could become hazardous as temperatures drop.

According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin late Monday and continue through early Tuesday, primarily affecting areas north of the Ohio River and southeastern Missouri. Accumulations of up to 1.5 inches are expected, with localized totals reaching 2 inches in areas of heavier snow bands.

Drivers should exercise caution on major routes, including I-24 and U.S. 60, where icy patches may develop. While warm ground temperatures will limit overall accumulation, some untreated roads may become slick, particularly during the Tuesday morning rush hour.

The snow will taper off by mid-morning Tuesday, with temperatures reaching the upper 30s. The rest of the week looks dry but chilly, with highs in the 30s and lows dipping into the 20s. Another chance of rain arrives by Friday.

Residents should stay updated on road conditions and allow extra time for travel Tuesday morning.
