Louisville, KY – A flood warning remains in effect along the Ohio River through early Sunday morning, with rising water levels posing a risk to communities in Jefferson, Oldham, Floyd, and Clark counties. Officials urge residents near the river to stay alert and avoid flooded areas.

According to the National Weather Service, the river level at McAlpine Lower stood at 59.6 feet Thursday morning, well above the bankfull stage of 45 feet. Forecasters expect the water to peak at 59.9 feet overnight before receding below flood stage by Saturday evening.

Beyond flooding concerns, Louisville residents will see a mix of cold and warming temperatures. Saturday will begin partly cloudy with a high near 38°F. Sunday will be sunny, reaching 44°F, and temperatures will continue rising into the 50s by Monday.

Drivers should remain cautious on roads near the river, and pedestrians are advised to stay away from riverbanks. The next update from the National Weather Service is expected Friday at 1 p.m.
