Paducah, KY – The first snowflakes of the season could make an appearance late tonight into Monday morning across northwest Kentucky and the Evansville Tri-State region, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.
Forecasters say flurries or light snow showers are possible as colder air filters into the area overnight. The best chances for snow will be in counties along and north of the Ohio River, including parts of southern Illinois and southwest Indiana.
While some spots may briefly see a dusting or trace of snow, the NWS Paducah emphasizes that no significant accumulation or travel impacts are anticipated. Temperatures will hover near freezing overnight before rising into the 40s Monday afternoon.
This light system marks the first sign of winter for much of western Kentucky and the lower Ohio Valley. Residents may notice snowflakes mixing with rain during the early morning hours before the system exits later Monday.
