Paducah, KY – A stormy Sunday is expected across western Kentucky as a cold front brings the threat of severe weather, including damaging winds and isolated hail, between 2 and 7 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, clouds will increase overnight into Sunday, March 23, with gusty thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Temperatures will rise into the 60s and low 70s, but southwest winds between 10–20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph, may fuel stronger storms.

Counties across western Kentucky—including Paducah, Murray, and Hopkinsville—fall under a “Marginal Risk” for severe storms, with brief but strong cells possibly producing isolated large hail and downed limbs. The primary window of concern is Sunday afternoon into early evening.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items and remain weather-aware as storms may quickly intensify. Power outages and travel delays are possible in affected areas.

This weather pattern follows a mild Saturday and precedes a quieter Monday with calmer skies and highs in the mid-60s. While severe weather is not guaranteed, the National Weather Service encourages preparedness due to the storm potential.
