Paducah, Kentucky – A brisk northwest wind is keeping western Kentucky feeling colder than it looks today, with wind chills dropping into the 20s and lower 30s after a frigid start to the morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, highs today will reach the upper 30s to mid-40s under dry skies, but steady northwest winds will add a bite to the air. Morning lows started out in the teens, making it one of the colder starts the region has seen in recent days.
Conditions begin to shift Monday as winds ease and warmer air moves in. Highs will climb into the upper 40s and low 50s, setting the stage for an even bigger warm-up Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to surge into the mid-50s to lower 60s across McCracken, Graves, Marshall, and Calloway counties, offering a brief taste of spring.
That warmth will be short-lived. Another cold front is expected to move through on Wednesday, knocking temperatures back into the 40s and bringing a chance for light rain showers across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri.
Residents should dress in layers today to guard against wind chill, then prepare for changing conditions midweek. Additional updates or advisories may be issued as the next front approaches.
