Louisville, Ky. – Breezy west winds are sweeping through Kentucky this weekend, bringing a welcome break from humidity and ushering in cooler temperatures in the low 70s to low 80s across much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, Saturday will remain dry with highs between 73 and 83 degrees and lows dipping into the upper 50s. Winds will increase throughout the day, especially in central and northern Kentucky, helping drop humidity levels statewide.

By Sunday, southern portions of the state may see spotty showers under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures are expected to hover between 76 and 82 degrees. Areas near Bowling Green and Somerset could see isolated rainfall in the late afternoon.

Rain becomes more widespread by Monday, with scattered thunderstorms likely across Louisville, Lexington, and surrounding counties. Highs will remain in the upper 70s to low 80s, but muggy conditions will return. Commuters should plan for slick roads and possible delays during the morning and evening hours.

Dry conditions are expected to hold through Sunday night, but umbrellas and rain jackets will be essential for the start of the workweek. Additional storm advisories may be issued as Monday approaches.
