Paducah, Kentucky – Western Kentucky is facing a volatile weather setup Sunday as strong thunderstorms with damaging winds move in by mid-morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, scattered showers will develop after 10 a.m. Sunday, with the strongest storms likely between noon and 4 p.m. Wind gusts near 40–50 mph may accompany the most intense cells, especially along the I-24 corridor from Metropolis to Calvert City.
While widespread severe weather isn’t expected, isolated damage from downed branches or brief power outages is possible. Rain chances will taper off by Sunday night, but humidity and heat will remain high.
