Paducah, KY – The first weekend of spring will start with warm and sunny conditions across western Kentucky before shifting to stormier weather by Sunday. Residents can expect pleasant temperatures on Friday, but the National Weather Service warns of possible strong storms developing later in the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, Friday will be mostly sunny, with highs reaching the mid-60s. Light winds will shift southwest, increasing slightly in the afternoon. Friday night remains clear, with lows in the low 40s.

Saturday continues the warm trend, with sunshine and highs near 66°F. However, cloud cover increases by Saturday night, bringing a 50% chance of showers after midnight. Winds will shift east, setting the stage for a more active weather pattern on Sunday.

By Sunday, a stronger system moves in, bringing showers and the potential for thunderstorms. Some storms could be strong, particularly in the afternoon. Gusty winds reaching up to 25 mph are also possible. Drivers on I-24 and US-60 should prepare for wet conditions and reduced visibility.

Monday will see clearing skies, with highs in the low 60s, before another slight chance of showers returns Tuesday.

With a mix of spring sunshine and approaching storms, residents should enjoy the warmth but stay alert for changing weather.
