Louisville, KY – Kentucky drivers are facing dangerous spring conditions as both flood warnings and a freeze alert remain active into Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, a Freeze Warning remains in effect for Jefferson County and surrounding areas until 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8. Overnight temperatures are expected to dip to 28°F, triggering widespread frost, especially in low-lying zones and rural corridors. This warning follows a day of heavy rainfall, which also prompted a Flood Warning that remains active for the region through Monday afternoon.

Motorists along Interstate 64 and city roads in Louisville should use caution, especially late Monday into early Tuesday. Standing water may refreeze overnight, creating slick spots and black ice hazards during the morning commute. Homeowners are urged to cover outdoor plants and bring sensitive vegetation indoors due to the frost threat.

Tuesday’s daytime weather improves slightly with highs near 49°F under sunny skies. Winds will remain calm, helping to stabilize road conditions by midday.
