Lexington, Ky. – Strong to severe thunderstorms could rattle parts of Kentucky Saturday afternoon and evening, bringing the threat of damaging wind gusts, hail, and heavy downpours to central and western regions.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, isolated to scattered storms are expected to develop later today, with the strongest systems capable of producing localized wind damage and hail. The greatest risk zone stretches from Louisville through Bowling Green and eastward toward Richmond, with southern Indiana and northern Tennessee also on alert.

While not all areas will see storms, those that do may experience brief but intense impacts. Outdoor events and travel plans should be monitored closely, especially along I-65 and I-64 corridors. Saturday highs will range from 73 to 80 degrees, fueling storm development into the evening hours.

Sunday will bring a break for most, though southern Kentucky—including areas like Somerset and London—may see lingering showers or a thunderstorm. Monday looks dry and warmer statewide, with sunny skies and highs climbing into the low 80s.

Storm chances drop significantly after tonight, but residents are urged to stay weather-aware. Check local alerts before heading out, and secure outdoor items that could blow away in gusty winds.
