Louisville, KY – A wet evening is in store for Kentucky as rain showers move in tonight, potentially impacting Monday’s morning commute. Highs today will reach the upper 50s, but increasing clouds signal a shift to wetter conditions later this evening.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Louisville, rain is expected to begin after 8 p.m. tonight with steady showers lasting through Monday morning. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-40s, creating a damp and cool start to the workweek. Drivers on I-65 and other major roadways should allow extra time Monday morning, as roads may be slick from overnight rain.
Rain will taper off Monday afternoon, with highs remaining mild in the mid-50s. However, temperatures will begin to drop significantly by Tuesday night, leading to a chance of snow showers Wednesday morning. NWS predicts a 20% chance of snow, with little to no accumulation expected. Nonetheless, freezing temperatures could create icy spots on untreated roads.
Looking ahead, Wednesday’s high is expected to stay near 34°F, with lows plummeting to the low 20s. Thursday offers some relief with sunny skies, but the chill remains as highs barely reach 34°F.
Residents are advised to prepare for colder weather and stay updated on potential road conditions. Ensure vehicles are winter-ready and check for any alerts regarding icy patches later in the week.
