According to the NWS Louisville, storms will begin moving into the area from the west around 5 p.m. and are expected to exit eastward by midnight. The primary concerns include wind gusts up to 60 mph, quarter-sized hail, and the potential for isolated tornadoes.

Residents in affected areas should stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings. The NWS advises people to secure loose outdoor items, charge electronic devices in case of power outages, and be prepared to take shelter if necessary.

Areas highlighted in the risk zone include Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, and surrounding communities. The severe weather threat is part of a broader system sweeping across the Midwest, with conditions favorable for dangerous storms.
