Paducah, KY – Severe thunderstorms are expected to impact parts of Kentucky and Indiana late Friday through Saturday, bringing strong winds, large hail, and the risk of tornadoes.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, an enhanced risk of severe weather exists Friday night across western Kentucky and southwest Indiana, with the potential for damaging winds exceeding 70 mph and tornadoes, some of which could be EF-2 or stronger. The greatest threat period extends from late Friday evening into early Saturday morning.
Saturday’s storms will be more scattered but could still bring damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Areas including Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Hopkinsville are at risk for strong thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.
