PADUCAH, Ky. – Dense fog hangs over the Ohio River this Tuesday morning, softening headlights along I-24 and Route 60 as the region readies for another soaking rain. The calm, humid start marks the beginning of a soggy midweek stretch before drier, brighter weather arrives just in time for Halloween.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, patchy fog will linger early Tuesday before widespread rain moves in later today and continues through Wednesday. Winds will increase slightly from the east, gusting near 20 mph as moisture spreads across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and far southeast Missouri. Drivers should expect reduced visibility during the morning and ponding on rural roadways by this afternoon.

Rain remains steady through Wednesday, with a few heavier bursts possible during the morning commute. Temperatures will hover in the upper 50s before gradually cooling late in the day as drier air filters in from the northwest. By Thursday, high pressure returns, clearing skies and bringing sunshine with highs around 60°F — the best day of the week for outdoor plans or pre-Halloween errands.

Friday’s Halloween weather looks seasonably cool and dry, with highs in the low 60s and light evening breezes. Trick-or-treaters can expect crisp, clear air — a welcome shift after the week’s rain.

Looking ahead, the weekend turns slightly cooler but mostly sunny, ideal for post-Halloween activities or early November yard work. After all, the first cool push of November is never far behind in western Kentucky.
