Kentucky-Illinois Temps Near 90 With Storms, Heavy Rain Late Wednesday

Paducah, KY – Well-above normal temperatures and increasing storm chances are expected across the region this week.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, highs will climb into the mid to upper 80s through the work week, with several days nearing record temperatures. Overnight lows are also expected to remain unusually warm, potentially setting or tying record warm minimum temperatures.

Forecasters say storm chances will increase midweek, with the highest likelihood for widespread showers and thunderstorms arriving late Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Rain chances during this period are estimated between 50% and 80%.

While no specific severe threats were detailed in this update, the incoming system is expected to bring much-needed rainfall to parts of Kentucky, southern Illinois, and surrounding areas.

The warm and humid conditions combined with storm chances may impact outdoor plans and commuting, particularly during the midweek period.
