Paducah, Kentucky – 32°F morning lows are creating patchy frost and slowing early travel through Sunday, especially on bridges and rural roads across the Quad-State region.

Cooler-than-normal air remains in place today across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and southwest Indiana, with highs only reaching the upper 50s to near 60°F. Early morning temperatures in the low 30s are allowing frost to develop in outlying areas, particularly near river valleys and open farmland.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a warming trend begins Sunday, with highs climbing into the upper 60s and 70s, followed by near 80°F temperatures Monday and Tuesday. Cities including Paducah, Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, and Evansville will see a rapid shift from chilly mornings to warm afternoons.

Travel impacts will be limited after sunrise, but early drivers along I-24, I-57, and I-55 should watch for isolated slick spots where frost develops on elevated surfaces.

A more active pattern returns by midweek, with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms beginning Tuesday and continuing through at least Thursday. Periods of rain could reduce visibility and create slick roads during commutes.

The frost risk diminishes after Sunday morning as temperatures rise steadily, but additional weather alerts are possible as rain and storm chances increase across the region midweek.
