Paducah, KY – A stormy stretch of weather is setting up across the Quad State region today through Friday, with multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah. Temperatures will stay above normal through the end of the week before returning to seasonable levels over the weekend.
According to forecasters, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely today, continuing into this evening. A few storms may become strong to severe, with large hail being the main concern. While the overall severe threat is limited, NWS notes that a couple of tornadoes cannot be ruled out with the late-day storms.
Storm chances decrease briefly Wednesday before ramping back up late Wednesday night through Friday night. This next round will bring repeated bursts of showers and thunderstorms across western Kentucky, southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, and southwest Indiana.
By the end of the week, rainfall totals are expected to range from 1.5 to 2.5 inches across the region, with higher localized amounts possible where thunderstorms repeatedly track over the same areas.
Temperatures today will reach the upper 60s to mid-70s, staying above normal for mid-November. Similar warmth continues through Friday before conditions trend cooler and more typical for the season over the weekend into Monday.
NWS encourages residents across the Quad State area—including Paducah, Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Evansville, Hopkinsville, and surrounding communities—to monitor forecasts closely, especially today and again late Wednesday into Thursday when stronger storms are most likely.
