Kentucky – Headlights glow in a gray haze across McCracken County this morning as dense fog drops visibility to a quarter mile or less in parts of Paducah. At 30 degrees with freezing fog reported at Barkley Regional Airport, bridges and untreated roads may turn slick in spots. If you’re traveling along I-24 or U.S. 60, slow down and use low-beam headlights.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Visibility could fall below one-quarter mile at times. Calm winds and saturated air have allowed fog to thicken around rivers and low-lying areas. Conditions should gradually improve late this morning as sunshine breaks through.

Temperatures rebound quickly today, climbing to near 65 degrees under mostly sunny skies. That rapid warmup reduces icy concerns by midday. Still, early drivers should watch for patchy slick spots where freezing fog settled before sunrise.

Tuesday turns mostly cloudy with a high near 66. Wednesday grows even milder, reaching 72 degrees with increasing clouds. By Thursday afternoon, a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms develops, and a few storms could become strong. Keep an eye on changing conditions heading into late week.

Behind that system, cooler air filters in Friday with highs near 58 and additional shower chances into the weekend. No snow is expected, but brief heavy rain could impact travel Thursday evening.

Looking into President’s Day week, longer-range signals suggest above-normal temperatures building again, offering early spring vibes across western Kentucky.
