Louisville, Ky. – Kentucky is set for another stretch of dry, unseasonably warm weather as highs climb into the mid-80s through Friday, keeping conditions unusually summerlike for the end of September. Nights will be cooler, with lows dipping into the 50s, but no rain is expected until early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, Wednesday will bring mostly sunny skies with highs near 89 degrees, followed by clear and calm conditions overnight. Thursday and Friday will feature sunshine mixed with clouds, with daytime highs ranging from 79 to 87 degrees. Forecasters say the next chance for showers will not arrive until the start of next week, leaving the region under an extended dry spell.

The warm stretch is unusual for late September, when normal highs are typically in the low 70s. The combination of warm afternoons and cool overnight lows could mean higher fire danger in dry brush and farmland, especially across central and western counties. Residents are advised to limit outdoor burning and stay mindful of dry conditions.

The dry and calm pattern is expected to hold until at least Sunday, when weather models suggest a shift toward wetter conditions.
