Paducah, KY – Severe flooding continues to affect parts of Kentucky, with major flooding along the Green, Ohio, Little Wabash, and Big Muddy rivers. Local communities, including Paducah and Evansville, are experiencing near-record river stages, prompting ongoing warnings from the National Weather Service (NWS).

According to the NWS, areas along the Green River, notably in Paducah, and the Ohio River near Evansville, have seen significant flooding, with river levels expected to remain dangerously high through the weekend. The current forecast includes moderate to major flooding, especially in regions along the Little Wabash River.

In addition to the flooding, residents are bracing for a warming trend as temperatures are expected to rise steadily through the weekend, reaching highs in the low 70s in Paducah by Sunday. However, these improving conditions could lead to increased runoff from rain earlier this week. The region will see a small chance of rain early next week, followed by better chances by Thursday and Friday, as the NWS Paducah office reported.

Residents are advised to remain cautious around affected areas, especially near flood-prone riverbanks. Emergency services are monitoring conditions, and local roads, including major routes, remain under alert for possible closures.
