According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, the flash flooding is life-threatening, impacting urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Affected locations include Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Cadiz, and Fort Campbell.
Although the rain has stopped, additional rounds of heavy rainfall are expected later tonight, exacerbating the flooding. Authorities urge residents to avoid flooded roads and heed evacuation orders. Emergency management has reported considerable flash flood damage, with the threat continuing to grow throughout the day.
