LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Clear skies and warm afternoons will keep Kentucky in classic fall mode through Saturday, but early next week could bring a change. Families planning outdoor events or Halloween decorating will find Thursday through Sunday ideal, with sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s.

According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, calm winds and dry conditions dominate the short term forecast. Highs Thursday reach 86 degrees, with similar warmth Friday and Saturday. Overnight lows dip comfortably into the upper 50s to low 60s, allowing for crisp mornings and mild evenings.

Drivers on I-65 and I-64 can expect excellent travel conditions through Saturday night, with visibility staying clear and no rain to slow weekend trips. Parks, farms, and football games will see classic fall weather without disruption.

Sunday holds on to the sunshine, topping out near 85 degrees, but changes develop Monday. Meteorologists highlight a 20 percent chance of showers by the start of the workweek, with rain chances increasing to 50 percent by Tuesday. Thunderstorms may form, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours, bringing a risk of brief downpours.

Residents are advised to prepare for a shift by keeping umbrellas and rain jackets ready as early as Monday morning. Outdoor events early next week may need backup plans.

The first full week of October wraps with a return to more seasonable fall temperatures, with highs falling back into the 70s by Wednesday. More weather advisories could be issued if storm coverage increases.
