Paducah, KY – A strong cold front sweeping across Kentucky tonight will bring temperatures as low as 15 degrees to the Paducah area, with flurries possible earlier in the evening. Residents are urged to prepare for icy conditions and bundle up as wind chills may make temperatures feel even colder.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, skies will clear by Friday morning, but temperatures will remain below freezing with a high near 33 degrees. Overnight into Saturday, lows will hover around 23 degrees before a warming trend begins.
The weekend is set to bring some relief. Saturday’s high is expected to reach 48 degrees under mostly sunny skies, and Sunday will see temperatures climb to 45 degrees, with slightly overcast skies. Calm winds through Sunday should make for pleasant outdoor conditions, though early morning frost may linger.
Looking ahead to next week, Paducah will continue warming, with highs approaching the low 50s by Tuesday and Wednesday. No precipitation is forecast after tonight’s flurries, providing dry conditions for roadways. Drivers are advised to watch for slick patches tonight, particularly on bridges and overpasses.
Prepare for the cold now by dressing in layers, keeping pets indoors, and ensuring your vehicle has emergency supplies for any icy conditions.
