Paducah, KY – Rain and thunderstorms will move into western Kentucky on Friday, bringing the potential for heavy downpours and gusty winds.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely Friday night into Saturday, with an 80% chance of rain. Winds could gust up to 20 mph. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the mid-60s before cooling over the weekend.

A hazardous weather outlook is in place for western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri. Some isolated storms could become strong, with heavy rain and lightning being the primary threats. Residents should prepare for wet roadways and reduced visibility, especially on major routes like I-24 and U.S. Highway 60.

Looking ahead, Saturday will remain rainy before temperatures drop to the 30s overnight. Sunday will bring cooler conditions, with partly sunny skies and a high near 45°F. Another round of rain is possible Sunday night into Monday.

Drivers should remain cautious in wet conditions, and those in flood-prone areas should monitor updates.
