Paducah, KY – A strong cold front is set to sweep through Kentucky, bringing significantly cooler air and the season’s coldest wind chills by Thursday morning. Residents are advised to prepare for breezy conditions, with overnight lows dropping into the upper 20s to mid-30s through the end of the week.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, temperatures will begin falling Wednesday, with highs only reaching the mid-50s. Breezy northwest winds could make it feel even colder, with gusts up to 25 mph. Thursday morning will see the coldest wind chills of the season, with “feels-like” temperatures as low as 22 degrees.
The forecast for the rest of the week includes:
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, high near 57. Breezy northwest winds 10-15 mph, gusts up to 25 mph.
• Thursday: High near 49, breezy with overnight lows dipping to 35 degrees.
• Friday: Partly sunny with highs between 47-52, overnight lows near freezing.
• Saturday: Slightly warmer, high near 53 under mostly sunny skies.
Motorists along I-24 should exercise caution, as gusty winds may create challenges for high-profile vehicles. Outdoor enthusiasts should dress warmly, especially early Thursday morning when wind chills are at their worst.
