Kenosha County, WI – A stolen vehicle investigation that began in the City of Kenosha ended Thursday morning with a safe arrest after a multi-agency police pursuit across Kenosha and Racine counties, authorities said.

According to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was originally reported stolen from Martino’s Dry Cleaners in the City of Kenosha after an employee allegedly refused to return it. Kenosha Police Department officers were initially involved in the investigation.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. Thursday, the stolen vehicle was spotted again in Kenosha County. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, leading to a pursuit that crossed into Racine County before looping back toward Kenosha County.

Several Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office deputies staged along Interstate 94 to assist. A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper deployed spike strips near the Interstate 94 and Highway 158 interchange, according to authorities.

Officials said the fleeing vehicle slowed and attempted to maneuver to avoid the spike strips. At that point, a Racine County Sheriff’s Office deputy performed a PIT maneuver, causing the vehicle to crash into the median wall.

The driver then allegedly complied with officer commands and surrendered without further incident. No serious injuries were reported.

Video released by the sheriff’s office shows the moment the fleeing vehicle crashed following the PIT maneuver.

Authorities credited coordinated communication and teamwork between the Kenosha Police Department, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, Racine County Sheriff’s Office, and Wisconsin State Patrol for the safe outcome.

The incident caused brief traffic slowdowns along I-94 during the morning commute.

Charges related to the stolen vehicle and pursuit have not yet been announced.
