Kenosha County, WI – One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening in the Village of Somers, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision occurred around 6:27 p.m. on October 5, 2025, in the 3400 block of County Highway E (CTH E/12th Street), when a pickup truck and an SUV collided head-on, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies and the Somers Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene.

According to Lt. Daniel Ruth, Public Information Officer, the pickup truck had been traveling westbound on CTH E while the Honda SUV was headed east. Investigators believe the pickup crossed the center line, striking the SUV and causing severe damage to both vehicles.

The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner. The pickup driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Authorities say alcohol and/or drugs may have been factors in the crash. The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) responded and continues to investigate.

“This incident remains open and active,” the sheriff’s office said. “The cause of the accident is still under investigation.”
